¿Quiénes somos?

The National Road Safety Observatory is created by Legislative Decree 1216-2015, which will have as its primary database the Traffic Accident Registry of the National Police of Peru, the Health Registry of Traffic Accident Victims of the Ministry of Health, and the Forensic Registry of Traffic Accident Victims of the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of the Public Ministry. Likewise, it articulates all the secondary databases, of the various public and private institutions, Regional Governments and Local Governments, in matters of road safety. The National Road Safety Observatory comes into operation in the first quarter of 2021, and becomes the intersectoral and intergovernmental articulation mechanism that aims to consolidate information on road safety for decision-making that contributes to the implementation of the National Road Safety Policy. Articulates and facilitates the technological mechanisms for the process of integrating the information records of the databases of the participating institutions as a primary source, as well as others produced by the Executive Branch, Regional and Local Governments, and public and private entities, which are relevant for the management of information on matters related to the occurrence of traffic accidents. Designs and defines the methodologies, formats and standards necessary for the collection of traffic accident data generated by the competent authorities in traffic, transportation and road safety; as well as carry out the corresponding information processing. It is currently administered and managed by the Road Safety Directorate of the General Directorate of Policies and Regulation in Multimodal Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Misión

Provide relevant information, as well as carry out monitoring and follow-up of data on road safety, whose analysis becomes a source for the preparation and evaluation of public policies, programs, projects and interventions for adequate decision-making, for art of the institutions involved, which have an impact on the reduction of accidents and their victims at the national level.

Visión

The National Road Safety Observatory that seeks to be the leader in knowledge, standardizes and quality information on road safety, aligned with the Safe System approach, which promotes and establishes that deaths and serious injuries in traffic are unacceptable .
